When we suffer?

Here are 6 questions to ask yourself when you feel sad and how to respond if you do.

Question 1: Am I being punished by God for my sins?

If yes: confess and leave the sin of denial

Question 2: Am I preparing for a special service to be kind to those who are suffering?

If yes: Don't be self-pitying. Pray for God to open doors of opportunity and help you discover others who are suffering like you.

Question 3: Is Satan attacking me while I try to live a true Christian life?

If yes: Pray to God for strength.

Question 4: Am I specially chosen to be tested like Job?

If yes: Get help from church members. Trust God to accomplish His purpose through you.

Question 5: Is my suffering the result of natural consequences for which I am not directly responsible?

If yes: Know that both the righteous and the wicked will suffer in this sinful world. But for the righteous, God has promised that one day their suffering will end.

Question 6: Is my sadness for an unknown reason?

If yes: Don't suffer yourself to be sad in your heart. Trust God knowing that He cares for you and patiently wait for His help.
